Meet the Private Chefs of Beverly Hills
Food Network is set to premiere one of it’s most highly anticipated and hyped series in quite some time. Taking a cue from Bravo’s Real House Wives franchise they have developed Private Chefs of Beverly Hills. An inside look at Tinsel Town shindigs from the point of view of the culinary teams that put them together.
Here’s how gawker.tv describes it:
Skilled chefs in Hollywood, some of them gay, some of them foreign. High-end, demanding clients, most of them assholes. When the two worlds collide, it sounds like the recipe for success, right? Maybe!
Here’s the premise: The show follows around a company called Big City Chefs, which specializes in private catering. And guess what, all of their employees can not only cook, but they are just like, totally crazy. Not like your office. Your office just thinks it’s fun and unique and wacky. Just because Linda from accounts receivable got drunk and sang karaoke on the bar during the holiday party does not make your office unique. These guys put your stupid office to shame. Does your company have enough zany characters and conflict to have a television show? Yeah, didn’t think so. Well this one doesn’t really, either. But still! It’s on TV somehow!
So who are the Private Chefs of Beverly Hills (aka PCO90210)?
Chef Brian Hill is a Top Chef alum having competed on the Bravo hit series back in season one. This D.C. native has cooked for the likes of Eddie Murphy, Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey and Mekhi Phifer. Chef Brian combines Hip Hop cool with savvy sophistication and that has made him a favorite in L.A. In February 2009, Chef Brian was named one of Hollywood’s Top Ten Most Eligible Bachelors by Access Hollywood.
In addition to his duties at L.A.’s hottest catering company, Hill also maintains his popular web site, ChefBrianOnline.com. There you can read his wisdom, copy his recipes or scope out his Gourmet Comfort Truck.
As an actress, Sasha Perl-Raver has appeared in several shows since her 2001 debut. As a chef she started working professionally at age 16. Sasha graduated from USC with a minor in cinema, was crowned Miss San Francisco in 1999 and baked Lindsay Lohan’s 18th birthday cupcakes. She has turned show business and the culinary arts into a lifelong pursuit.
But their are many layers to this cheflebrity. In addition to her work in the kitchen and in front of the camera she is also a well respected food writer having contributed to LA2Day.com, CBS.com, AOL, Fox Atomic and Buzznet. The New York Daily News declared her “funniest in LA” in September 2005.
Meet all of the PCO90210 Chefs. Private Chefs of Beverly Hills premieres Friday April 9th at 10p/9c and will air regularly in that time slot on the Food Network.
