Food Feuds on Food Network

After the success of kid brother Travel Channel with Food Wars it only makes since that big brother Food Network would do their take on it.  After all they are both owned by Scripps (the people behind the national spelling bee).   Food Feuds is the same basic show – the host visits the country and issues a winner take all taste-off on the city’s signature dish by the two restaurants that do it the best.  Pat’s vs Jeno’s Steaks in Philly is the best example.

Camille Ford on

Michael Symon on

The main difference between the two shows is that Feuds host, Michael Symon is a world renowned chef of impeccable pedigree.  Wars, however, is hosted by the incredibly delicious Camille Ford.  If it’s about actually eating then you gotta go with the Iron Chef, but if it’s about gawking at the picture radio for half an hour I’ll take the hot chick.

Anyway, here’s what the Network said about the pilot episode, Feuds on a Roll, of Food Feuds:

Iron Chef Michael Symon is out to settle some of the most famous food rivalries across the country. On this episode, he tackles two famous feuds found on a roll. First, he visits Chicago and dives head first into the legendary Italian Beef sandwich rivalry. Then later, Michael visits Detroit and winds up right in the middle of a heated 93-year-old battle over the beloved Detroit Coney Dog.

Anthony Bourdain and Morimoto, Together?

On the Monday August 11, 2008 episode of No Reservations, Tony Bourdain ventures through the exciting culinary adventure to be found in Tokyo.  His guide along the way is none other than Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto.  On the No Reservations site you can view highlights from the show as well as get a list of restaurants and what not Tony enjoyed while in the Land of the Rising Sun.  There are also crew blogs and Tony’s photo journal.  Check it out!

Food Wars with Camille Ford

9.99.9 - A Cautionary Tale of Greed, Lust and Avarice by Stuart Reb Donald. For months now we’ve been seeing the promos for the Travel Channel’s newest food-oriented travel show, Food Wars.  You know the ones, they usually feature two patrons in a bar arguing over who has the best this or the tastiest that.  And of course there are all of those cut-ins of the saucy hostess Camille Ford as she wrangles the combatants into something resembling controlled frenzy.

Camille Ford of Food WarsFood Wars is a concept that is long overdue.  So what is that concept?  Here’s how the Travel Channel’s site describes it, “There’s a debate brewing across the country, and it’s taking place in Everytown, USA, with legions of loyal fans passionately defending the local eateries and the iconic dishes that make their towns famous. From Detroit’s hot dog war — Lafayette’s vs. American Coney Island’s — to one of the most famous battles in the country — the Philly cheesesteak war between Pat’s and Geno’s — it’s time to end these rivalries once and for all as Travel Channel presents Food Wars.”

Camille Ford of Food WarsHostess Camille Ford has a sultry look and a sexy tomboy personality that makes you think she’d be fun to knock back shots or watch the game with.  And while Ford isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty she has a polished elegance that suggests her star is just beginning to shine.  Her dreamy eyes and strong cheek bones give her an exotic look reminiscent of raven haired starlets like Angelina Jolie and Megan Fox.

The premiere of Food Wars is a two-episode event that pits the originator of the Buffalo Hot Wing, Anchor Bar and newcomer Duff’s for the crown as Buffalo’s best hot wing.  Following that, Camille heads to Chi-town for a battle for the city’s best Italian Beef Sandwich between Al’s Beef and Mr. Beef.  A panelists of locals will serve as judges in the blind taste test that will settle the debate forever.

Food Wars premieres Tuesday, March 9, at 10 E/P on the Travel Channel.

Travel Channel Nixes Food Wars and Camille Ford

AllWebCo Web Hosting Solutions

I have just learned that the Travel Channel canceled Food Wars after just two seasons.  From the volume of searches for pictures and information about hostess Camille Ford this is a bit surprising.  Scripps (parent company of Travel Channel, Food Network, HGTV, et al) is not stupid however as Ford will be hosting a new show on HGTV set to premiere in the fall.  No word on whether she will continue as part of the cast of Best Places I’ve Ever Been. Good move.  For more of Camille Ford in action watch full episodes of Food Wars online HERE.  Ask yourself, who wouldn’t want to see more of this:
