New Food Network Series: Home for Dinner with Jamie Deen
NEW YORK, NY – May 8, 2012 – Jamie Deen combines his two great passions of food and family for Food Network in Home for Dinner with Jamie Deen, premiering Saturday, June 16th at 10:30am ET/PT. Jamie always welcomes a helping hand in the kitchen putting his personal and professional skills to the test to create great family dinners. Whether his son Jack helps make hand-churned homemade ice cream, or Grandma Ginny (aka, Jamie’s mom, Paula Deen) comes over to help put the finishing touches on a dish; at the end of a long day, Jamie spends quality time in the kitchen and at the table, making meals to get everyone Home for Dinner!

Shot in Tybee Island, Georgia, the 10 episode series features Jamie making savory meals with the family including a Taco Night fiesta for Jack’s friends and parents, a Big Green Salad with Jam Jar Dressings 2 Ways, guaranteed to make the adults and kids happy,and a Cast Iron Skillet Focaccia.
Jamie Deen is an entrepreneur, businessman, author and son of American cooking and lifestyle icon Paula Deen. Jamie has been an integral part of expanding the concept of the legendary small business The Bag Lady into one of America’s most successful restaurant launches, with the 1989 opening of The Lady and Sons in Savannah, Georgia. Jamie’s careful attention to the business side enabled his mom to craft recipes that helped garner national exposure for the restaurant. Soon after, Jamie and his brother Bobby began making regular appearances on their mom’s cooking shows on Food Network and later launched their own show on the network, “Road Tasted,” which followed The Deen Brothers as they explored America in search of more examples of love and warmth-infused cooking. Jamie is also an accomplished author and has published four books: The Deen Bros. Cookbook-Recipes From the Road (2007), Y’all Come Eat (2008), Take It Easy (2009) and Get Fired Up (2011).

Melissa d’Arabian Set to Drop 5 lbs with Good Housekeeping

In Not My Mama’s Meals, premiering Wednesday, January 4th at 9:00pm ET/6:00pm PT, Bobby Deen takes his mother’s (Paula Deen) recipes and transforms her southern comfort food into lighter, leaner, yet still delicious versions of her dishes, with special guest appearances by Paula Deen, Daphne Oz, among others. Emphasizing small changes that deliver big results, Drop 5 lbs with Good Housekeeping premieres Saturday, January 21st at 11am ET/8am PT. Based on the magazine’s popular weight loss column, the series is hosted by Melissa d’Arabian (Ten Dollar Dinners with Melissa d’Arabian), and also features expert advice from fitness guru Ashley Borden, Good Housekeeping Nutrition Director Samantha Cassetty and Aarti Sequeira (Aarti Party).

Each week on Not My Mama’s Meals Bobby Deen will recreate some of his mother’s famous meals with healthy substitutions that cut down on calories and fat, but still deliver on taste. Bobby begins his culinary quest by putting a unique spin on two of his mom’s dishes, her Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding and Chocolate Mousse Pie, by whipping up a Fresh Fruit Bread Pudding and Frozen Chocolate Pie. The Bag Lady herself (Paula Deen) makes a surprise visit to help Bobby lighten up two dishes that go way back – her Pimento Cheese Sandwiches and Gooey Butter Cake.
Designed to make weight loss easy and manageable, Drop 5 lbs with Good Housekeeping episodes are filled with cooking and shopping tips, workout techniques and dining out do’s and don’ts.
