FREE: Martha Stewart’s Grilling Cookbook

Martha Stewart Grilling CookbookMartha Stewart practically invented branding oneself.  The queen of entertaining is a Jill-of-all-trades so when it comes to firing up the grill she knows how to get things going.  Of course when you’re Martha you don’t have fuss with things like lighting the charcoal chimney or scraping grill grates.  You just call pals like Texas BBQ expert Tim Love, Best in Smoke star Chris Lilly and legendary master griller Steven Raichlen.

For the summer grilling season Martha has put together a cookbook featuring recipes from some of the best in Que and a few of her famous friends like Emeril Legasse and Elizabeth Karmel.  What’s more she is offering her Summer Grilling Cookbook for free.

BBQ Tips from the Best in Smoke

A short film shot at the Hog Wild BBQ Festival in Mobile, AL. The film includes tips from big time BBQ competitors like Danielle Dimovski of Diva-Q and three time world champion Myron Mixon of Jack’s Old South, both starred on TLC’s BBQ Pitmasters.  Also included is an interview with Craig Orrison, father of Brad Orrison.  Brad, along with his sister Brook, opened The Shed Barbecue & Blues Joint in Ocean Springs.  Brad’s official title in the family business is HeadShedHed.  The Shed team will be appearing on Food Network’s Best in Smoke which premieres tomorrow night.  The film was shot by chef and food writer Stuart Reb Donald (hey, that’s me!) and should help get you ready for Memorial Day.

Grill It! with Bobby Flay Marathon

Memorial Day is the official unofficial start to the summer grilling season and to celebrate, as they do every year, Food Network is in the throws of it’s Grilling Week.   It started on the Sunday before Memorial Day with a Food Network Challenge that featured a battle of the sexes All Star Grill-Off followed by Iron Chef: America pitting Curtis Stone against the grill master himself Bobby Flay.

Grill It!Those were just warm ups.  FN is kicking off Memorial Day with a four and half hour marathon of Grill It! with Bobby Flay, the companion series to the Iron chef’s popular cookbook.  The marathon will feature a dozen episodes from various seasons so expect to see the comfortable Brooklyn back drop and the mountainous LA set as well.

For those who are unfamiliar Grill It! here’s the FN set-up:

Fans of Bobby Flay stop him at every corner, begging for a chance to cook with the chef – and now they can. Thirteen lucky Food Network viewers, all known for their own grill mastery, have been chosen to cook alongside the grilling guru himself in Grill It! with Bobby Flay. In each episode, the guest griller’s best recipe is the food of the day. The twist is that Chef Flay has no clue about the food of choice until the guest arrives, so he has to whip up his own recipe on the fly. It isn’t about the competition; it’s about the opportunity of a lifetime – to grill it with one of the best pit masters around.

If you haven’t already check out my exclusive interview with Bobby Flay.
